Downtown apartment is formed by connecting of a two typical apartments of a 1930's Zagreb architecture, situated in the core of historycal downtown. Project intervention revives the flexibility of a former plan solution – three to four rooms facing the street facade. Double door set in the middle of the wall connecting those rooms is the key element of a spatial organization of downtown housing. In the past, rooms facing the street used to be salons and rooms for diverse daily activities, while today an open space floor plan allows a variuos number of activities to happen simultaneously. In a new spatial conception, the walls are removed but the door remains, not only as a memory of past times, but as a partition element, the same time separating and connecting different functional zones. All other rooms are scaled to fit Zagreb downtown home lifestyle; very comfortable master bedroom with it's bathroom and wardrobe, a lavish and representative entrance hall with discreetly incorporated auxilliary rooms.
