Four urban villas are located near the Zagreb cemetery Mirogoj,on a sloping terrain providing a view over the city center. The 'urban villa' typology is commonly found in Zagreb and derives from the local urban plans. Houses consist of three apartments; each apartment on its own floor. The ground floor features a natural, green terrain, which raises the quality of life almost to the level of a family home. The ground floor has a spacious loggia, while the attic flat is slightly smaller but is compensated with a grand terrace. The four volumes are virtually the same, connected via their plynths and arranged in a way that provides the best of view for each house. Materiality refrences the brick arcades of the nearby cemetery - each house and its base are cladded in clinker brick. Among the four villas, each one is in a different shade of brick as to accentuate their individuality and make it easier for the tennants to differentiate them.
